Sarah McCarthy, LPC

I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia with years of experience in the mental health world. 

 

I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the College of William and Mary. I began working in the mental health world in 2017. I have worked in  community mental health, school, and private practice settings. I have been gifted with the opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals who were struggling with diverse situations. ​

Ashley Withers, Student Intern

Hi! I'm Ashley. I am currently an internship student at Liberty University, where I am working towards my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

 

I earned my Bachelor's degree in
Elementary Education from East Carolina University and went on to complete a Master's degree
in School Counseling through Liberty. I spent six years as an elementary school teacher, where I
developed a deep passion for helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Shelby Bussells, MSW
Supervisee in Social Work

Hi! I'm Shelby Bussells. I am currently a Supervisee in Social Work in the state of Virginia working towards becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).I earned a B.S. in Sociology with minors in Public Health and Gender Studies from Shenandoah University in 2020 and a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2022. 

 

I have been providing a range of mental health services since entering the field in 2020. These services include: individual outpatient therapy, jail-based biopsychosocial assessments, jail-based individual therapy, jail-based crisis intervention services, and bereavement therapy. I have obtained several certifications including Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) and Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART).
